RSS - What is RSS and how do you use?

What is RSS? RSS is commonly defined as "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary". If you do not like the word Syndication, the second definition that gives a better idea of its capabilities. Basically, RSS is just another way to obtain the same information from a website in a different format, hence the term CONTENTS.

Let me try to make it clearer, RSS are exactly the same information that you would find on a particular website, but instead of you visiting the site each time you want to "check" if the website as been updated, the site will actually "notify" you (web feed) when new content as been published.

Pretty cool, so now let us see what this means. It means that you should not run your favorite website or constantly check to see if anything, as it has been updated since it can record their RSS and get automatically updated when an update is sure that you want to track. In essence, you are creating your own "Personal Journal" by FEED (RSS subscriptions), who comes from a different source, but instead of going to all these sources to obtain information and come to you.

So what you need to start? Well, the first thing on your own "personal journal", you need a place to gather all those feeds (RSS). Google has called a "Google Reader", so do a search on it or any RSS reader you can find, there are a lot of them, and you will then have a "place" to gather all those who feed want to track.

HOW does it work? The RSS reader is simply a program that will bring all your RSS feeds and make them available for reading without leaving the "player". So, once you select a drive, go to your favorite websites and look for the RSS logo and when you click on it you will then copy the link back to the reader as a subscription ADDED.

It may seem a bit 'confused, but once you do once you realize that it is quite simple. It 'just like e-mail, the reader is a web application just like your web-mail account and if you use Gmail, you simply use the same login for Google Reader - so you already have an RSS reader without knowing it. Within your email account you can see if you have new mail, well within the Reader will see if you have updated the "news" that you have not read yet. When you want to add a new friend in your emails, simply add their email addresses in your contacts. Well, RSS is simple with ADD "link" in your "subscription" instead of contacts. After signing a particular RSS you will be automatically notified of new information on that particular feed.

You'll notice that I said "special diets" because now that you know how to get your player and go find RSS feeds you're interested, you will find that you can go to a sports network, for example, and only subscribe to a RSS of your favorite team. So instead of subscribing to the entire website, try to find exactly what you want and just subscribe to that particular RSS.

Well, this was only a quick introduction to RSS, but I hope to have a better idea works on RSS and what they can do for you. It 's your personal journal that you can customize as you want. So go out there and then get your RSS reader simply find a little 'to subscribe .......
