What Is A Pager

A pager or pager, is a system that provides real-time geographical position by GPS or triangulation of GSM antennas, and transmits the user or the central server via GSM, radio or satellite. We can distinguish two types of pager, based on GPS and mobile phone-based, with widespread use to locate employees, young children, elderly or tele-assistance.

Features

A pager is a system that basically performs two functions, geo-positioning and transmit its location coordinates.

Location technology: a pager can use different technologies to determine their geo-positioning such as GPS (the most common, present in virtually all devices), GSM antenna triangulation (discussing the signal strength of GSM cells antennas of mobile phone coverage, used in mobile phones) or by triangulating the signal through the satellite system Cospas-Sarsat rescues (used in emergency radio beacons).

These technologies are not mutually exclusive, often being a pager use several simultaneously. Regarding coverage, satellite systems and GPS Cospas-Sarsat cover almost the entire Earth, but may have areas of shade, while the GSM coverage is much more limited.

Type

There are basically two types of pager:
