Eating Out in Mallorca (Bis)

There are no set menu, but the team abcMallorca gastronomic chose the tasting menu of five dishes that changes every week and also offers good value at 24 € per person (tax included). On Friday or Saturday night you can order the same menu but with a different wine for each course and for 29 €.

As is typical, we were served a plate of succulent green olives and a bread basket to sit Mallorca. Our first dish was a beetroot Cold Cream and Apples, beautifully presented - a silky texture, delicious and successful. The second dish was a Granada Artichoke and Prawns with mashed carrots and oranges. It seemed that he had prepared with great skill but in our view lacked salt and soft consistency and appearance of the dish were not entirely to our liking.

Following a Supreme John Dory on Anchovy Parmentier accompanied by a sauce of peppers. The pieces of habitats, green beans and carrots were cooked al dente. When we had noticed the meat dish its delicious aroma: Beef Sirloin Stuffed Mushrooms White Gabardine Bacon Cured Cheese Sauce Mahon. The bacon was very tasty, perhaps too much as it remained a bit of beef, but it was tasty and satisfying dish.

Sable ended up with a crisp lemon and Almonds with Lemon Cream and Ice Cream with Coconut Foam Strawberries. Perhaps the coconut foam on a bit since the other ingredients blended very well, was a fresh-tasting dessert and a good variety of textures.

Here the wines are de Mallorca or the peninsula, prices start at € 13 a bottle. Our choice was a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Castell Miquel 'Stairway to Heaven', 21 €.

Can Amer When we arrived, there were few people, but when we left (which was also early) the establishment was almost half full, which is not bad for a Monday lunchtime. Most customers seemed local. Is our verdict? The tasting menu consisting of dishes appealing and correct size is very good value, but the choice of the letter is a good alternative if you think five-course a bit much. In summer, Can America be a good place to shelter from the heat.
